Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 10,000 Ukrainian students have taken advantage of the opportunity to take high-quality IT courses free of charge.
The implementation of the Wildau-Kharkiv IT Bridge programme was made possible with the support of Germany and the Technical ۶Ƶ of Applied Sciences in Wildau. On the Ukrainian side, the programme is being organised in cooperation with Kharkiv National ۶Ƶ of Radio Electronics.

Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Kateryna Muzyka, visited the world’s largest tokamak of the International Organization ITER (International Experimental Thermonuclear Reactor), located in the south of France. This fusion facility has the potential to be a breakthrough in the production of safe, clean and infinite energy, replicating the processes that occur in the Sun and stars. The participation of 35 countries in the international ITER project, the efforts and significant funds invested in research, emphasize the globality and significance of scientific research in the field of thermonuclear fusion.
This direction of research is particularly relevant for Ukraine, given the history of the Chernobyl disaster and the modern challenges associated with the occupation of the Zaporizhzhya NPP. It is expected that the first results of experiments that will allow us to evaluate all the advantages of thermonuclear energy will be obtained already in the coming decades. Visiting ITER once again confirmed that science works for the benefit of future generations, opening new horizons in the search for clean energy sources.

One of the extremely important results of the WARN project, the , was presented at the WARN project working meeting on 24.01.2024.
The manual contains the results of research and development of the entire project consortium, which are universal in nature. The results obtained are not tied to any speciality and can be applied in the educational process of any educational programme. The recommendations set out in the manual will help teachers train professionals who are resilient to modern challenges.

At the Department of Biomedical Engineering as part of the implementation of the International Doctoral Studio Program with Lubelska Politechnika, long-term cooperation with medical institutions-stakeholders – the Ukrainian Scientific and Clinical Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation and the Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology named after M.I. Sitenka of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the latest medical equipment for prosthetics, orthotics and physical rehabilitation of the upper and lower limbs was obtained for the training of applicants of the first (bachelor’s), second (master’s) and third (doctor of philosophy) levels of higher education under the “Biomedical Engineering” educational program:
– Gaemi intelligent robot for physical rehabilitation of hands (model GM-1700JC);

Aim of the project
The INITIATE project aims to empower higher education institutions to develop R&I through institution transformation. The project seeks to design an approach for this transformation that considers the institution’s needs, available resources, policy barriers, good practices from other initiatives, and potential collaboration opportunities with other institutions and local ecosystems. The process will involve iterative R&I Labs, supported by an online Knowledge Hub, to generate policy recommendations for helping stimulate R&I development and scientific excellence in Widening countries. The approach will be demonstrated in Croatia, Portugal and North Macedonia, resulting in a roadmap for long-term uptake of R&I in Widening countries with identified replication cases and an Alliance for the green energy transition to ensure the long-term sustainability of INITIATE results.

On December 11-15, 2023, the Wroclaw ۶Ƶ of Science and Technology hosted the final meeting of the international project Green Transition in Ukrainian Universities (GTUA NAWA Project 2023), which was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Automation and Computerized Technologies Prof. Oleksandr FILIPENKO, professor of the CITAR department Olena TOKARIEVA and associate professor of the Department of Occupational Safety Hanna PRONIUK.
At the meeting, Natalia STUKALO, Deputy Head of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, provided an evaluation report of the self-assessment reports of each of the Ukrainian universities participating in the project, as well as recommendations for further actions in the direction of their implementation of the sustainable development goals.

Valuing scientific understanding and gender equality, L’Oréal launched the “For Women in Science” program in 1998, which aims to strengthen the position of women in science, support scientific excellence and help talented women scientists get the recognition they deserve.
The Ukrainian Prize is part of the global L’Oréal-UNESCO program “For Women in Science” and is implemented in Ukraine for the fifth year in a row.

On December 6, the German-Ukrainian workshop “German-Ukrainian Collaboration Workshop 2023” was held, organized on the basis of the ۶Ƶ named after H.V. Leibniz (Hanover, Germany), which was attended by scientists from Ukrainian universities: Kharkiv National ۶Ƶ of Radio Electronics and Ukrainian State ۶Ƶ of Science and Technology (Dnipro), as well as from the Institute of Cryobiology and Cryomedicine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Scientists from Spain, France and Colombia were also presented at the workshop. Scientists from the Department of Biomedical Engineering participated from ۶Ƶ – the head of the department, professor Oleg Avrunin, associate professors Maksym Timkovich and Karina Selivanova, and graduate student Andriy Sokolov. The organizer was Professor Birgit Glasmacher (Prof. Prof. h.c. Dr.-Ing Birgit Glasmacher, M.Sc.), director of the Institute of Multiphase Processes (IMP) of the ۶Ƶ named after G.V. Leibniz (LUH) and the moderator is graduate student Oleksandra Hubenia (Ph.D Student, M.Sc. Oleksandra Hubenia).
The purpose of the workshop was to strengthen international relations between universities of Ukraine and Germany, as well as to discuss new international projects and current scientific directions. .

From November 6 to 10, representatives of the Kharkiv National ۶Ƶ of Radio Electronics Maksym Kolisnyk and Vasyl Rossikhin took part in the UNICOM Study Visit to Lund ۶Ƶ (Sweden) as part of the implementation of the project “Universities-Communities: Strengthening Cooperation (UNICOM)” (Universities-Communities: strengthening cooperation – Erasmus+project UNICOM).
During the visit, our employees studied and exchanged experience regarding the implementation of the third mission of universities at Lund ۶Ƶ, which is one of the 100 best universities in the world, founded in the 17th century. and has more than 45,000 students, of which 28% are foreign students from 130 countries, 266 educational programs, international cooperation with 670 universities from 75 countries of the world. As part of the study visit, representatives of the “Community Universities: Strengthening Cooperation (UNICOM)” consortium visited the Vattenhallen Science Center. Vattenhallen is the research center of Lund ۶Ƶ and Sweden’s regional resource for technology and science education. Experiments and exhibitions are included in all educational programs at Lund ۶Ƶ. ۶Ƶ departments and local businesses shared their experience and knowledge in developing new experiments. Together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the universities of Ukraine, Germany, Latvia, and the Czech Republic, the possibilities of cooperation with the Office of Cooperation, the Innovation Office of Lund ۶Ƶ, the development of cooperation in Sweden and the potential of new projects with our partners were considered and discussed.

Springer published a book «Information and Communication Technologies and Sustainable Development. Advanced Approaches and Innovations in Up-to-Date Networks and Systems» in the series “Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems” (LNNS, volume 809).
The book presents the latest research in the field of new generation ICT systems for modern sustainable society, remote sensing of the earth. It discusses the results of joint research of NASU, key universities of Ukraine and scientists from different countries. It serves as a reference book on the evolution of intelligent ICT systems for researchers and practitioners in academia and industry.

The opening of the Cyber Action Innovation and Competence Center in Kharkiv has recently taken place. The Center was opened on the basis of Kharkiv National ۶Ƶ of Radioelectronics (۶Ƶ) with subordination to the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department. The Regulation on the Cyber Action Innovation and Competence Center at ۶Ƶ was approved at the October meeting of the Academic Council of our university.
