Kharkiv National ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Radio Electronics provides members of the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ community with access to the European Open Science Cloud — EOSC EU Node using their ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ institutional account through the international academic identity federation eduGAIN.
EOSC EU Node is a European digital environment for open science that provides researchers, academic staff, employees, and students with access to cloud computing resources, data-related tools, and services for collaborative research. Authentication through eduGAIN allows users to access EOSC services with their institutional digital identity without creating a separate EOSC account.
What EOSC EU Node Offers
EOSC EU Node provides access to a range of digital services for research and academic activities, including:
- virtual machines and cloud computing resources;
- interactive Jupyter environments;
- Kubernetes-based cloud services;
- personal storage;
- tools for working with and transferring research data;
- collaborative research environments and user groups;
- GPU resources for eligible user categories.
Resource-intensive services are managed through a virtual credit system, depending on the user’s access level.
Who Can Use the Services
Access to EOSC EU Node depends on the academic role transmitted by ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ during federated authentication.
Students may receive the Observer access level, allowing them to enter the User Space, explore available services, and participate in research groups.
Employees with a staff or employee role may receive the Collaborator access level, which provides access to a broader range of computing services, including Jupyter environments and virtual machines.
Faculty members and researchers with the relevant academic role may receive the Investigator access level, which provides expanded access to computing resources, research groups, and GPU services.
How to Sign In
- Go to EOSC EU Node.
- Select sign-in through eduGAIN / Add another institution.
- Find Kharkiv National ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Radio Electronics.
- Sign in using your ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ institutional account.
- After the first login, check your assigned access level in the User Space settings.
Authentication is performed through the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ identity system. Your ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ institutional account password is not transferred to EOSC EU Node. The external service receives only the identity attributes required to confirm your institutional affiliation and determine the appropriate access level.
What is eduGAIN?
eduGAIN is an international federated identity infrastructure for the research and education community. It enables users of universities and research institutions to use their institutional digital identity to access academic services and resources provided by participating organizations around the world.
For ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ, access to EOSC EU Node through eduGAIN expands the capabilities of the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ’s digital infrastructure and provides researchers, academic staff, employees, and students with a direct pathway to European open science services.
European research infrastructure is now closer to ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ — accessible through your institutional digital identity.
