Igor Ruban, Rector of Kharkiv National ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Radio Electronics, took part in the Student Forum “State-Building Under Martial Law and City Recovery Through the Eyes of Students”.

The event served as a platform for dialogue between Kharkiv students and representatives of various levels of government, business, university leadership, and the civic sector.

The key topic of the meeting was active youth, as students today are not merely observers, but active participants in social change, volunteering, science, innovation, and the recovery of Ukraine. Therefore, the forum participants sought to hear the students’ views and their vision of what the state should look like after the war, what Kharkiv should become, and what role the young generation will play in its recovery and development.

Igor Ruban, Rector of ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ, addressed the participants with welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of student initiatives in building civil society.

During the working sessions, students asked questions to the speakers and guests and actively participated in discussions on the interaction between youth, government, and the community.

A special part of the forum was dedicated to presentations by student leaders. Kira Shuban, Head of the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Student Senate, presented the student life experience at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ and demonstrated the role students play in state-building under martial law and city recovery through examples of volunteer work, student self-government, scientific research, youth projects, community support, digital and innovative initiatives, and cultural events.

The forum became an important platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience, discussion of pressing issues, and the development of new ideas.

An informative online meeting on the organization of inclusive education was held at Kharkiv National ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Radio Electronics.

The event was hosted by Tetiana Blinova, Head of the Accessibility Service for Educational Opportunities “ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Without Limits”.

During the meeting, participants discussed the organization of inclusive education at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ. The organization of inclusive education is a field of work backed by a regulatory framework. Specifically at our university, an important governing document is Order No. 376 dated September 2, 2026, “On the Organization of Inclusive Education at Kharkiv National ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Radio Electronics”.

Inclusive education is a system of educational services based on non-discrimination, appreciation of human diversity, and the full inclusion of all participants in the educational process.

The goal of inclusive education at the university is to ensure equal access to high-quality higher education, comprehensive support, accessibility of educational components, and the opportunity to fulfill one’s individual learning path.

Key principles of inclusive education:

First – non-discrimination.

Second – equal access to education.

Third – respect for human dignity.

Steps in organizing inclusive education:

Stage 1 – Identification of need.

Stage 2 – Application.

Stage 3 – Assessment of needs.

Stage 4 – Organization of support.

Stage 5 – Ongoing support.

Final stage – Monitoring.

Required documents:

– application for the organization of inclusive education and special educational and rehabilitation support at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ; – individual support program for higher education learners with special educational needs.

Creating a barrier-free educational environment depends not only on documents or technical solutions. It also depends on our attitude toward one another, our willingness to hear the needs of others, and our commitment to finding solutions.

From 8 to 14 September 2026, Kharkiv National ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Radio Electronics hosted a sports flash mob to mark Ukraine’s Day of Physical Culture and Sport.

On this occasion, students at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ perform the ‘Squat + Knee Drive’ exercise for 1 minute.
A total of 270 ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ students took part in the flash mob. Participants performed the exercise wherever was convenient for them – at home, outdoors or during a training session – demonstrating that you don’t always need a gym to be physically active.
The flash mob brought students together around a simple yet important idea – to move, look after their health and stay active.
Such sporting initiatives help foster a culture of healthy living, develop strength, endurance and coordination, and create an atmosphere of team spirit even in a remote setting.
It is particularly pleasing that students from different years are getting involved in sporting activities, as sport at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ is not just about competitions and top results, but also about looking after one’s own health and well-being on a daily basis.
Thank you to all 270 participants for your enthusiasm, energy and desire to be part of the university’s sporting life!
Let’s move forward together – let’s grow stronger together!

Even during these difficult times of military aggression, ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ continues to fight for a clean world and to preserve everything around us. Our university is renowned for its numerous innovations in ‘green’ technologies, and a caring attitude towards the environment has become an integral part of our corporate culture.
One of the priority areas of ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ’s environmental activities is the systematic collection of recyclable materials: waste paper, plastic, plastic bottle caps and used batteries. These projects continue uninterrupted, despite all the hardships, shelling and destruction, as the university is conscious of its responsibility for a clean future.
The ‘Batteries, Surrender!’ campaign, launched in collaboration with the student trade union committee and the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ library, deserves special attention. The campaign is coordinated by the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Archives (M.N. Wolfson).
As is well known, AA and watch batteries, mobile phone batteries and other similar power sources account for a very small percentage of total waste, yet they are among the most hazardous. They contain mercury, lithium, cadmium, zinc, lead, other heavy metals and alkalis, which, if disposed of incorrectly, contaminate soil and water. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to dispose of this waste in ordinary rubbish bins; it requires special recycling.
The results of the campaign demonstrate the university community’s commitment to the cause. This year, environmental activists collected and handed over a new batch of batteries – around 20 kg – for recycling.
Despite all the challenges of wartime, ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ continues to fight for a clean world and to preserve everything around us. Every battery or bottle handed in is not just a statistic, but a real contribution to overcoming environmental threats and a step towards a sustainable future. The university calls on everyone who cares to get involved in environmental initiatives and demonstrates that, even in the darkest of times, caring for nature remains a beacon of hope for every one of us.

ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ and I. P. Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Arts have joined forces to support children from internally displaced persons’ (IDPs) families. A series of interactive music workshops took place at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ  dormitory, where displaced families are currently living.

Social work and support for IDPs are among the key priorities in ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ’s activities. Thanks to this inter-university collaboration, the children had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of creativity, relieve psychological stress, and acquire new skills.

A professional team of lecturers and specialists from the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Arts worked with the children: Oksana Aleksandrova – Doctor of Arts, Professor, Head of the Department of Music Theory; Polina Rud – Candidate of Arts, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Music Theory; and Oleksandr Maslo – Methodologist in the Academic Affairs Department.

A distinctive and memorable feature of the sessions was the children’s participation in playing percussion instruments donated by Mr Urban Fry.

This joint initiative by the two Kharkiv universities demonstrated the importance of social partnership and care for the younger generation during difficult times. Work to support internally displaced children at the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ halls of residence will continue.

Throughout May, Mental Health Awareness Month is observed in Ukraine and around the world – a period designed to increase focus on psycho-emotional well-being, reduce stigma, foster a culture of support and care for oneself and others, and remind people of available support resources.

ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ is joining the nationwide communication campaign “How Are You? Find Out. Take Care. Reach Out,” implemented within the framework of the “How Are You?” Mental Health Program initiated by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

Caring for mental health is not a standalone initiative, but an integral part of university culture where it is vital to notice the need for support early and know where to turn.

At Kharkiv National ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ of Radio Electronics, developing a barrier-free educational environment means creating conditions where support, acceptance, and psychological comfort for every participant in the educational process are paramount. The “ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Without Limits” Accessibility Service works to embed these principles into university culture through informational materials, events, and daily interactions.

To request socio-psychological assistance or propose an initiative regarding mental health support and the development of a barrier-free university space, you can write to sard@nure.ua or fill out the consultation sign-up Google Forms available on the “ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Without Limits” Accessibility Service website.

Oksana Kovalenko, Lead Engineer of the EDEBO Department at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ and a master craftswoman, conducted the traditional pysanka workshop for the students. Working with wax, pysachky (traditional wax-writing tools), and dyes is painstaking and delicate, yet every student created their own masterpiece.

Together, we preserve traditions, educate the younger generation, and nurture a love for Ukrainian culture.
